Windows 11 update affects BCS

After installing the Microsoft Windows 11 update KB5064081 (preview cumulative update for version 24H2), Bridgemate Control Software (BCS) can no longer open .bws files created in the Access97 file format. The Access97 format is an older database format, replaced long ago by Access2000 in BCS. However, scoring programs that still generate .bws files in the Access97 format will be unable to launch BCS after this Windows update.

We are actively investigating the issue and will provide updates on this page as soon as more information becomes available.

Temporary workaround: If you are affected, uninstall or roll back the KB5064081 preview update to restore functionality.
